JOB POSSIBILITIES

Certified Medication Technician
Average Hourly Pay Rate: $10.50 - 14

Certified Medication Technicians can work in a variety of settings including homes, assisted living facilities, hospices, adult day care centers, nursing homes, or group homes.

Job Description: Assists the client to administer oral medications, eye drops and ointments, nasal drops and sprays, compresses and dressings, hygiene products, or insulin. Certified Medication Technicians are responsible for recording, storing, maintaining inventory, and disposing of medications, and may also perform CNA duties.

Entry-Level Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Nurse Aide
Training
  • Successful completion of a state-approved medication technician program
Licensure/Education Requirements: Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide from the Virginia Board or Nursing and certificate from a state-approved medication technician program.
